According to various reports, Manchester United started the ball rolling on the Wilfied Zaha transfer to the club with a cheeky £6million bid.
Sir Alex Ferguson apparently approached Crystal Palace on Thursday to make an official bid in an aim to sway Zaha to head to the north-west rather than to Arsenal who are also said to be lining up a bid for the youngster.
Crystal Palace are said to have rejected the £6million bid as the club are keen to drive the price over the £10million mark, initial the clubs chairman valued Wilfried Zaha at £12million.
CEO of Manchester United, David Gill said on Wednesday:
“He is one of the players we are looking at, even if we did something with Wilfried, that would be for the summer.”
“There is still a long way to go”
One consideration has been to put the official bid together to secure the future of Zaha and then loan him back to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season.
Wilfried Zaha is currently contracted to Crystal Palace until 2017.
