Ahead of the home clash against Liverpool, an 18-man Manchester United squad has checked into the Lowry Hotel.
According to The Manchester Evening News, England’s All-Time Top Goal Scorer, Wayne Rooney, hasn’t joint up with the squad in the hotel.
The 18 that checked in are: Sergio Romero, David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Paddy McNair, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marouane Fellaini, Memphis Depay, Juan Mata, Ashley Young and, Anthony Martial.

This is some scary news for the Old Trafford Faithful, no Rooney means that the only striker in the squad is the brand new 19 year old signing, Anthony Martial.
But it could yet get worse. Van Gaal seems to believe that Marouane Fellaini is a suitable striker for Manchester United and he’s said that he wants to ease Martial into the side.
As it stands, United look to start either: a new 19 year old; a clumsy midfielder or; play without a striker, Spanish style in a False 9 formation.
In such a massive game, a player of Rooney’s talents and style is needed to get the best of United’s nemesis.
