David Moyes and Manchester United have made the decision to leave Robin van Persie back in Manchester this weekend as he recovers from both a groin and toe injury.
The squad travelled down from Manchester to Cardiff on Saturday evening with the rumours that van Persie did not board the coach at Old Trafford, with many assuming that he would join up with the team at the squads hotel in Cardiff at a later point.
The Daily Mail were first to confirm the latest injury news on Sunday afternoon.
Robin Van Persie suffered a toe injury followed by a groin strain during Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal two-weeks ago at Old Trafford, injuries which kept him out of International duty.
He has been taking part in light training over the past week but has not been joining in with first-team activities, including their last training session on Saturday before travelling to Cardiff.
Not doubt the club will assess the situation on Monday morning before the club travel out to Leverkusen on Tuesday afternoon in their next match, which is Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League.
