Manchester United starlet striker set for a loan move to the Championship

Manchester United striker Will Keane is set to seal a loan move to Championship side Wigan Athletic, but only after both clubs find out the extent of the United youngster’s latest foot injury.

Wigan are currently in 10th position in the Championship and looking to boost their strike force by adding Keane to their squad until the end of the season. Will Keane has been doing really well in his recovery at Manchester United since suffering from injury which kept him on the sidelines for more than 16-months.

Keane recently joined up with Gareth Southgate’s England Under-21s, strictly for training purposes to get himself more match fit, now it is likely that he will make his move to Wigan Athletic next week if the injury to his foot is not that serious.

Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle, speaking to BBC Radio Manchester said:

‘I spoke to David Moyes on Wednesday,’

‘Given the lad’s had a serious injury, we’ll always be guided by Manchester United in terms of when they feel is the right time for him to go out on loan.

‘I think this week will be too soon, given the slight knock he had, but if he recovers from that and the medical team are happy with him, there’s a possibility we could have that sorted by next week.

‘We have a tremendous relationship and David has said he’ll keep me up to speed.’

It will be a great move for Keane at Wigan Athletic, joining up with Manchester United loanee Nick Powell who has more than impressed at his time with the latics.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
