Rafael, Nani, Young & Hernandez unavailable for Chelsea showdown

Manchester United will be without a number of players that are still coming back from injury against Chelsea on Monday.

Ashley Young, Luis Nani, Rafael Da Silva and Javier Hernandez are all unavailable for squad selection as they slowly come back from injury.

Moyes confirmed that Rafael will be out of action for up to four weeks with the hamstring injury sustained at the Community Shield, whilst also offering an update on the progress of Hernandez, Young and Nani.

He said:

“Rafa picked up an injury in the Community Shield game so we’ve lost him for three or four weeks

“We have one or two coming back from injury – the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Chicharito. They’re still recovering.

“So we’ve got two or three coming back from really the effects of not having a proper pre-season because they came back from international duty a bit late. Hopefully they’ll all not too far away now.

“We’ve got a really squad here and we’re able to cope if you do get injuries. But it’s only just a case of getting then up to speed because they’ve missed pre-season.”

Monday nights fixture is by far the game of the weekend, and Moyes is keen to welcome Jose Mourinho back to the English game when he comes to Old Trafford.

Moyes added:

“I really like Jose, he’s had great success and I’ve not seen him for a long time so I’m looking forward to seeing him,” the boss explained.

“I came (to United) for this sort of level of game, but I came to win trophies. If you are going to win trophies then you are going to have to beat teams like Chelsea and Manchester City because that’s the way our league is.

“I’m looking forward to it. It’s one of 38 league games we’ve got this season and it’s a great first home game.”

Enjoy that? Give it a share!

I am a Chelsea fan and I know that leading up to this game all of the media talk will be about Rooney. Once the game kicks off though it will ONLY be about 11 United Reds v 11 Chelsea Blues (as it should be). Like most fans now I will be happy when this damn window closes so that sports journo’s can concentrate on the clubs and teams rather than individual players and will they wont they move nonsense.

That not a problem moyes can go with his 4-3-3 as usual.

De gea
jones,rio,vidic,evra
anderson,carrick
kagawa
welbeck,vanpersie,rooney.

Moyes let bring the magic once again that sir alex bring with the trio, welbeck, van persid, rooney. Because all will kept an eye on van persie. By starting with that they will have 3 player to kept eye on and kagawa can score goal.

You can make some change too by start zaha playing in first half and valencia come in second half to bring double danger problem to chelsea if you did not start rooney upfront. And in midfield we need a tough and solid midfielder to stop oscar, mata, hazard to break their attack. And anderson carrick look better. Defence is good fabio also can join the defence
