Cristiano Ronaldo has informed Manchester United that he wants to re-join the club one day and may even finish his career at Old Trafford, according to the Guardian.
On the eve of Real Madrid announcing the arrival of Gareth Bale, the Ronaldo story breaks that he is wanting a move back to Manchester.
The Guardian state that it will not be a move that will happen this transfer window, but could happen in 2014.
Manchester United have been monitoring the Ronaldo situation at Madrid for the best part of a year and the club feel that the Portuguese winger will return to spend the last three or four years of his career in Manchester.
United have kept Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes very close in dealings since leaving the club. Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has also made it clear in the past that the club would love to bring Ronaldo back. The father and son relationship that Ronaldo and Fergie had at the club was plain to see.
David Moyes has failed thus far on summer transfer targets, with Thiago and Fabregas bids not being accepted although another bid is set to be lodged next week for Fellaini and Baines.
One thing that is for sure, everyone from the manager, the tea lady and all the fans would love to have Ronaldo back at Manchester United.
Does this new information mean that United will go through-out the 2013/14 without a number 7 in anticipation of Ronaldo’s return next season?
