Bastian Schweinsteiger excited for another Premier League derby game

World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger featured in both of Manchester United’s games since the international break. The 31 year old played 74 minutes against Everton and was subbed off just past half time in Moscow.

Speaking to United Review, the German midfielder revealed his excitement for the upcoming Premier League match against Manchester City:

“I am definitely looking forward to the derby against City.

“I think it is something very special and we should be very happy that we have two big clubs in one city that are also playing in the Champions League.

“I remember when I was in Munich we were always looking for that, but the other team at 1860 Munich didn’t play so well.

“We were always looking for a derby but it was sadly not possible. Here, we can play lots of derbies and I am very happy about that.”

Schweinsteiger will be competing with Ander Herrera, Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini for a starting spot against Manchester City this Sunday.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
