The betting world can sometimes be a strange one, but overnight our very own Paul Scholes has move to 7/4 favourite to take the job as manager at Oldham Athletic.
Information was leaked this morning that significant wagers have been made on Paul Scholes landing the vacant Oldham Athletic job after Paul Dickov left his post at the weekend.
Through betting company SkyBet, the odds have been slashed from 16-1 outsider to 7/4 favourite in a matter of hours.
Paul Scholes, now 38 years-old is a lifelong Oldham fan and is very close to the club and board.
Sky Bet football trader Chris Spicer said:
“We initially made Scholes available to back as a sort of novelty option, but within 24 hours he’s received the most interest.
“Oldham is a club known to be close to his heart, so if he was to receive a player-manager offer then perhaps he might find it too hard to turn down.”
We can’t see this happening now, but in the near future this is certainly a job role that Scholes would thrive in post United.
