Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed why Marouane Fellaini, Shinji Kagawa and Chris Smalling all were unable to be selected in the first-team during their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
A unhappy David Moyes attended his post-match press conference at Old Trafford after watching his side put in a poor performance against Newcastle United, explaining why the three-some of first team players missed the weekends action.
Moyes said:
“Shinji was very sick after the [Everton] game and he did a bit of training on Friday but he was low
“All of the stats that we look at were low so we felt we had better not take a risk in case we got an injury by playing him.”
“It was a bad sickness. He thinks he ate too much, and he had to get his stomach pumped, but I think he is okay.
He later added an update on both Fellaini and Smalling saying:
“Fellani has a bruised back and Chris Smalling had a tight hamstring
So that is why both of them weren’t available.”
