As Manchester United prepare for their UEFA Super Cup final against Real Madrid, the clubs captain Michael Carrick has sung the praises of new signing Nemanja Matic after speaking with reporters.
United new boy Nemanja Matic, is available for Tuesday night’s clash against Madrid, set for his second appearance since joining from Chelsea for £35million last week.
Nemanja Matic made his first appearance for Manchester United last Wednesday, as the club won 2-1 in a friendly against Sampdoria, and captain Michael Carrick believes that the 29-year-old could play a pivotal role in bringing success to Old Trafford.
Speaking with reporters he said:
“He’s a terrific player, a great signing for us, who knows what it takes to win, he had a massive part to play at Chelsea and what’s important is he knows the league, the English way, how tough it is, how the season is, so he’ll adapt quickly at United and I hope he’ll have a big part to play for years to come.”
We think that Matic is going to be a fantastic addition to the Manchester United squad looking forward to the new season. Tuesday night’s match against Real Madrid is the last pre-season match before the Premier League starts this weekend, with United facing West Ham.
