Match Preview: Manchester United vs Anderlecht

After settling for a draw in their first leg, Manchester United are set to host Anderlecht at the Old Trafford in the second leg of the Europa League Knockout Stage.

MANCHESTER UNITED FIGHT FOR SILVERWARE

The home side have been on top of their game in the last few rounds. The team has settled for a 1-1 draw when they travelled away from home to play Anderlecht in the reverse fixture. United’s chances are very unlikely to win any trophy this season other than the Europa League so they will be giving it all they got here.

Manchester United have collected a total of 11 points from a possible 15 in their last five league games in the Premier League. Their last league match was against Chelsea at home where they won 2-0.

Manchester United are currently sitting in the 5th place in the league table. They have 60 points from 16 wins, 12 draws and 3 losses. The team scored 48 goals and conceded 24 since the start of the season.

United are expected to start with their best possible line-up, however, Jose Mourinho is expected to trust his Argentinian goalkeeper Sergio Romero instead of De Gea for this game. Zlatan Ibrahimovic should start up front alongside Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the flanks.

THE VISITORS TO BREAK UNITED’S BRICK WALLS

On the other hand, the visiting team are on top of their local league table at the moment and haven’t lost any of their last five games in all competitions. They need to put in a good performance here in order to shock the hosts.

Anderlecht have collected a total of 10 points from a possible 15 in their last five league games in the Belgian First Division A. Their last league match was against KV Oostende away from home where they won 1-0.

Anderlecht are currently sitting in the 1st place in the league table. They have 38 points from 18 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses. They have scored 67 goals and conceded 30 since the start of the season.
