Ever since his two goals on debut for Manchester United in this seasons Europa League, Marcus Rashford has looked like he was born to play at the highest level. Two more goals followed in the Premier League as United dispatched of rivals Arsenal, and a star was born at Old Trafford. Displaying talent and maturity defying his fledgling years, the eighteen year old has made himself a mainstay in the United side this season. Such performances had even led to any calling for an unlikely call up to the England squad for the summer European Championships. However, despite admitting to being extremely impressed by the youngster, England boss Roy Hodgson has ruled out the inclusion of Rashford in his final squad.
Despite having four Premier League goals to his name already, including a winner against arch rivals Manchester City, as well as an FA Cup quarter final winning goal against West Ham, the likes of Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy are certainly ahead of Rashford in the England pecking order. The two marksmen are the Premier League top scorers and look set to battle it out to partner United’s Wayne Rooney in the England attack in France. With Bookmakers Coral offering Rashford outsider odds of 10/1 to make it to France in the Euro 2016 betting tips, bets on Kane or Vardy to start against Russia at 1/12 and 7/4 respectively look to be more likely at present. With Coral being like a football almanac, make sure to keep an eye on the latest news in the build up to this summer’s tournament.
With Rashford’s United team mates Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling certainties to travel to France barring injury, and more than likely to claim their place in the starting eleven, one man who will be hoping to join them is Jesse Lingard. Despite having yet to win a first senior cap, the midfielder has been ever present for United this season and was recognised by a first international call up for England’s recent fixture with France. The Warrington born man is 20/1 with Coral to earn what would be a surprise inclusion.
United’s England hopefuls will look to maintain their good form from now until the end of the season, starting with a fixture against title chasing Leicester City. Claudio Ranieri’s men can claim the Premier League trophy with victory at Old Trafford, however Louis Van Gaal’s men will be doing their upmost to ensure that this does not occur.
