Manchester United International Round Up

Last night, 4 international teams with Manchester United representatives took to the field.

Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Germany lost 1-0 to Ireland, but the result still kept the World Cup winners at the top of Group D. Bastian spent the match as an unused substitute, due to picking up and injury in the pre-match warm up.

Paddy McNair and Northern Ireland managed to earn their first qualification for a major tournament in 30 years. The last tournament that they featured in was World Cup 1986.

McNair made his first international start against Greece, which the Northern Irish went on to win 3-1, and was taken off with only 5 minutes of regulation time remaining.

During these Euro Quailifiers, the French national side has been playing friendlies, as they automatically qualify for the Euros tournament by hosting it.

France took on Armenia, and won 4-0. Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin were substituted on just past the hour mark. Martial ended up setting up Benzema’s second, and France’s fourth, goal of the game.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
