Before landing the French starlet Anthony Martial, Manchester United’s assistant manager, and club legend, Ryan Giggs scouted him for a year.
As part of his development into being a top manager, Giggs has been taking on some scouting duties, he chose to monitor Martial, among others, and decided that he was Manchester United material.
He advised Louis van Gaal to make a move for the top prospect in the summer to beat the opposition to his signature.
As was the case with Memphis Depay: Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were all in the chase to sign the A.S. Monaco striker but, because of Giggs’ report and recommendation United stepped up to get their target, and paid the necessary fee.
Red Devils fans are hoping to see the wunderkind in action next weekend against arch rivals, Liverpool.
