Manchester United’s other Spanish keeper, Víctor Valdés, who even Beşiktaş rejected, will be left in exile, at least until January if someone wants to take him on.
Valdés, who signed on a free in January this year, was given a chance following his injury and replacement at Barça by young German keeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.
The keeper has since been unable to cope with the intensity of Premier League life. He didn’t look great in the two games that he did play for United, probably being a bit rusty but, he refused to play for the U21’s to gain match fitness.
Not only did Beşiktaş refuse to take on the Spaniard, but West Bromwich Albion chose to take Anders Lindegaard over him.
Víctor Valdés will remain behind David De Gea, Sergio Romero and youngster Sam Johnstone at least until January.
His contract tying his to Old Trafford expires at the end of this season.
