At the charitable HMV Football Extravaganza event, on Tuesday, David Beckham received the Legend of Football Award.
It was the 20th anniversary of the Extravaganza, which raises money for Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity.
Beckham spent the majority of his career at Manchester United, as one of Fergie’s Fledglings, but since departing Old Trafford he went to play for Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and A.C. Milan.
At the event, David Beckham said:
“I’m incredibly honoured to be receiving this award,”
“When you look at the list of the previous recipients, I feel very fortunate to be considered alongside them. More importantly the night is about recognising the fantastic work that Nordoff Robbins does, and raising funds for their vital work.”
The award has also been given to other footballing legends like: Sirs Alex Ferguson, Bobby Robson and Bobby Charlton.
