Liverpool Star to Miss Old Trafford Clash

Yesterday, Anfield witnessed their home team get smashed 3 goals to nil, by West Ham. During the skirmish, Liverpool’s star Brazilian, Philippe Coutinho, picked up 2 yellow cards, the first for descent and the other for a late challenge on the tricky Dimitri Payet.

This has lead to a one match suspension, which happens to be Liverpool’s trip to the Red half of Manchester.

Liverpool have had a torrid time in the Premier League, when travelling to Old Trafford. Manchester United have won 15 of the 24 match ups. 4 have ended in a stalemate and the Liverpool have won the other 5.

However, Liverpool’s most recent victory came just 2 seasons ago, when Moyes’ United were demolished 3-0. But then came van Gaal, and order was restored. Last season it was Liverpool on the receiving end of a 3-0 loss at Old Trafford.

Coutinho plays a key role in the Liverpool set up; he’s scored half of Liverpool’s goals this season, and will be greatly missed in the match up. However, the Brazilian has never scored or got an assist against the Red Devils, at home or away.

The heated rivalry returns to Old Trafford on the 12th September, after the international break.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
