PICTURE: Juan Mata Wins Player of the Month

Juan Mata this month has been quite simply remarkable, he has silenced doubters and has helped United look like a team who are serious when they say “we are getting top four!”.

Two stand-out performances against Spurs and Liverpool meant that we had to pick the little Spaniard, who has thanked the fans very much.

Against Spurs he not only opened up space for players like Rooney and Fellaini to burst through, but he also leant a grafting hand in running around like labrador to secure three points, in the second half he carried on and made sure United were not complacent in the final stages of the game. He was a treat to watch and his link-up play with Herrera meant that United would well and truly bring the Spanish golden and traditional, tiki-taka into the lineup.

But the best performance came in the biggest rivalry in British football, Liverpool would prove a hard test but with Mata on top of his game, again linked up with Herrera to provide the first goal, with his weaker foot, although it was a tidy finish. In the second half, Mata showed the United faithful that he can bring anyone into the game, such as out of form Di Maria, the two  exchanged passes for Mata to volley home a shot only worthy to be described as an absolute “worldie!”

Mata has deservedly won “player of the month” he showed Louis Van Gaal what he has missed, he is a very cheery chappy and such a likeable person, his talent has been sublime this month, and with the season coming to an end, a title push could be on the cards, and if Mata plays like he has, he could be welcomed aboard the road to success with United.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
