United starlet suffers injury blow against Everton

Described as a future England international by Sir Alex Ferguson, the man who signed him from Crewe Alexandra, Nick Powell’s career has never really got going at Manchester United. Powell joined the club in July 2012 in a deal reported to be worth up to £6 million, but he has failed to really break into the first team since his arrival in Manchester and has struggled for form during recent loan spells.

However, the twenty year old had been showing some form for the reserves going into Tuesday nights clash with Everton at the Leigh Sports Village in the Barclays U21 Premier League. With United needing a win to return to top spot.

Powell had a bright first half, linking up well Andreas Pereira and James Wilson. But appeared to pick up a knock after tussling in the penalty area with Brendan Galloway and suffering a suspected hamstring injury.

This will come as yet another blow for the youngster who has been tipped for great things at Manchester United. But could now spend considerable time on the sidelines and may be a doubt for the upcoming matches against Sunderland and Tottenham.

Manchester United drew 0-0 with Everton in a hard fought at match at the Leigh Sports Village.

It’s unfortunate that Powell has picked up an injury but that’s not the real issue. The guy has an attitude problem, basically he is lazy, and unless that is resolved his future at United is limited. That’s a pity but the solution is in his hands.
