Angel Di Maria left shaken after house burglary attempt in Manchester

Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria and his family are said to be shaken after they were all whisked away by bodyguards after a
terrifying raid at their home over the weekend.

The gang fled empty-handed when an alarm went off, but the whole ordeal has left the Di Maria family shaken.

Di Maria, 26, had been at home just a few hours after starring in United’s 3-1 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford when the failed burglary happened at about 8pm GMT on Saturday night.

The Argentine winger and his family were taken by police to the Lowry hotel in Manchester. He was
shadowed by a security guard when he left the hotel in his Range Rover on Sunday afternoon.


A boarded-up window at his house show the attempt that burglars attempted to gain access before the alarm and security did their job.

A source close the Di Maria said:

“Di Maria was having dinner when these guys used scaffold poles to smash in the patio doors. No one got in because the alarm went and they ran off. When police turned up they were long gone.

“From what I heard, Di Maria and his family were very shaken up — as you would be.”

Cheshire police confirmed they were investigating the raid and will continue to work to try and find the three that were recorded on close circuit tv fleeing the scene.
