GALLERY: Manchester United take part in first LA training session

Manchester United have had a busy start to their pre-season, with Louis van Gaal insisting that Ryan Giggs had a two-session a day training schedule while the manager was still competing with his national side, the Netherlands in the World Cup.

On Friday, the squad, including the new manager, flew out direct to Los Angeles to embark on their pre-season tour of America. A tour that will see them play four pre-season friendly matches against LA Galaxy, Inter Milan, AS Roma and Real Madrid before the squad return for a friendly against Valencia at Old Trafford.

On Saturday afternoon, the squad took part in their first training session in Los Angeles, training in 27 degrees heat, the back-room staff put the tour squad players through their paces with Louis van Gaal watching on. View some of today’s pictures in our gallery below:

With no new five to six additional world class players, I do not see them finish among the 4 top teams for the next 2014/15 season.
We really hope the management do everything possible within their capabilities to make it happen and thus save us from humiliation again.

2 every idiot below and above me van took a not so good holland team to 3rd place in the world cup, im pretty sure some1 like him can make do wiv the team hes got and snatch a top 3 finish. Also hes definitly signing mor players the guys a genius, so wake up people.

While we definitely need more world class players; I totally respect LVG having a good look at his players prior to any decisions. Good managers have no problem making their system clear and Man U should get back to confident playing before start of season. Can’t wait!!

Fergie won us the title and that too without Mata, Herrera, Shaw…..so we need good management not a Ton of players…and looking at an average Dutch team except Robin and Robben who would have thought they would make it to the semis….? If Moyes was to manage the Dutch then…..so its all the more about managers rather than players

Exactly! Like spurs did last year and like Liverpool is doing now, I’d rather have 2 more world class signings + a decent defender

Its bad that LVG leaves Fresh blood back in England for the tour n goes with old players_intstead of testing young stars____i wonder what he’s planing__May God revive our Team_United for life

we should go and sign Dis players to avoid humiliation again. Vidal, de vrij , cuadrado and blind if possible. we need to not only qualify for UCL BT lift d EPL tittle.
