The transfer and rumour mill continues for Manchester United

Reports today claim Manchester United are close to signing both Nigel De Jong and Stefan De Virj. Alongside these reports convey that United have offered £20m for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

The Daily Star report that Manchester United would have to dig deep in their pockets if they want to complete the deals of Chilean stars Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez. The reported fee is around £80mllion. The same article suggests that alleged United target Jackson Martinez will decide on his future until after the World Cup.

Manchester United have made a £20m ‘take it or leave it’ bid for defender Mats Hummels, claims the Express.

Mark Ogden, who has a good reputation when it comes to transfers, thinks that Manchester United will target one more defender, and an energetic midfielder at a minimum. He also thinks that United will bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in the near future. Additionally, Ogden reports that William Carvalho and Edinson Cavani feature in Van Gaal’s wish-list.

Patrice Evra has agreed personal terms with Juventus, with the two clubs yet to agree on a transfer fee, claims Di Marzio. Evra, who signed a one-year contract extension with United in June, is still in Van Gaal’s plans however. It is understandable that Evra may want to leave, and not play out of favour behind Luke Shaw.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on all the transfers and rumours surrounding Manchester United, but as you can see from all these reports, in just one day. There are abound to me many more rumours before the end of the transfer window.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
