David Moyes tells Wayne Rooney to step up at Manchester United

David Moyes has asked Wayne Rooney to step-up once again and continue his goal-scoring and recent good form for Manchester United, especially this weekend against Manchester City.

Rooney has won the man-of-the-match award in the past two games for Manchester United, scoring 3 goals in the process.

Speaking at Carrington ahead of the Manchester Derby, Moyes said:

“He’s [Rooney] worked hard and is showing exactly what he can do

“If Wayne could score another two goals at the weekend that would be the next step forward. I’m asking him to step up again

“I want him to keep getting better.”

Moyes also stated that the club with take it one step at a time over a new contract for Wayne Rooney.
