Moyes 'We are going to need vocal backing at Old Trafford'

David Moyes has admitted that vocal backing will be needed through-out the 2013/14 season after his praises the impressive following support at Wembley Stadium in the Community Shield.

Manchester United sold over 55,000 tickets for the Community Shield on Sunday, with Wigan Athletic selling just under 6,000 and Moyes was more than happy with the support as he starts his campaign as United manager.

Speaking with MUTV at Wembley, Moyes said:

“It was incredible. At the end, most people normally leave and the ground becomes half empty, but three quarters of the ground was full of Manchester United supporters

“I think the supporters had the bit between their teeth. They know we have got a fight on this season, they know we have got a challenge and they are right up for it.

“And we are going to need them. We are going to need their vocal backing at Old Trafford, from the first home game, and hopefully we’re going to be ready to show them what we can do.”

Manchester United’s first home game of the season is against Chelsea on Monday 26th August, tickets for this game are now sold out.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
