Manchester United want Luke Shaw from Southampton

Manchester United interested in Luke Shaw from Southampton

Manchester United’s new manager David Moyes is set to make an offer for Southampton’s left-back Luke Shaw.

The 17-year-old has long been linked with a switch to Chelsea, but Manchester United are set to offer him a contract that he cannot refuse, although being a Chelsea fan.

The Daily Mirror claim that David Moyes has been tracking Luke Shaw for some time and is very keen on the England youth international.

Manchester United signed left-back Alexander Buttner last summer on a five year contract for cover for Patrice Evra, but planning for a future seems to be in the mind of David Moyes. It has been strongly rumoured that he may also bring Leighton Baines with him from Everton.

Luke Shaw has always said he is happy at St Mary’s and Saints expect him to sign an improved contract when he turns 18 in July.

Victor Wanyama. And that business is done! Moyes needs a stable, effecient, if not dazzling, midfield. For sure he will have the most dominant force in Europe then. Manchester United are the most potent attacking force in Europe and with a stable midfield, Moyes could be finding himself setting a goal scoring record in his first season, and load of trophies with it! He has to be wise though. There is no weaker place in United than that mid. Evident at West Brom, United could have gone on a rout, 6, 7 nil on the day. But Anderson with all his bulk was as good defensively as an automatic supermarket door. Cleverley just ran around in circles till he was subbed. Honestly now with Kagawa and Carrick’s form, Cleverley will find it difficult to define a role in United. And we all know where that leads. Just ask Berba. Former league top scorer, still gets the boot. Anyways, a solid mid is a sure bet for European dominance. Just look at Bayern and Dortmund. Sure Ribery and Robben were great, but Javi Martinez, and the likes of Lars Bender were the one really keeping the Messis and Ronaldos quiet.
