Sir Alex Ferguson to miss the start of next season?

Sir Alex Ferguson could be forced to miss the start of the 2013/2014 season due to the recovery from a hip operation, accord to the Mirror.

The United boss has apparently been suffering from a hip problem for some time now and will go under the knife after the squad return from their pre-season tour.

There are just 18-days between the squad landing back in Manchester from their pre-season tour till the start of the Premier League season and, no doubt, Sir Alex Ferguson will be fighting to get himself back on that touchline for the first day of the season.

The Mirror claim that sources close to United say they would be “amazed” if Ferguson – who could need a walking stick to aid his recovery – is in the dug-out for the start of next term in August.

Can just see Ferguson being irate, hopping around in his technical area with his stick on the road to recovery.
