David De Gea wins the February Player of the Month

David De Gea has won the Player of the Month award from votes on the Official website for the month of February.

Keeping three clean sheets in five games and making a number of valuable saves, it is clear to see why our Dave has won the award.

David De Gea won the vote with 57 per cent , ahead of Rafael (21 per cent) and Ryan Giggs (12 per cent). Ferdinand, Carrick and Vidic shared the remaining votes.

Speaking with manutd.com, De Gea said:

“It’s very good to have the support of the fans, so I’m happy to win this award, I can hear the supporters during the games so I know they’re singing about me. I’m very grateful for that.”

De Gea revealed that his favourite save of the month came at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid.

“I think we’ve been very good in defence as a whole and have been keeping some clean sheets, I think my favourite save from the last month was definitely the one with my left hand against Real Madrid, when I pushed Fabio Coentrao’s shot against a post.”

Enjoy that? Give it a share!

I was sure about him up until a few months ago mainly because he was poor on crosses but he’s improved on that and he’s one of the best shot stoppers in the game at the moment so i hope the Madrid rumours aren’t true.
