Sir Alex Ferguson criticizes Wayne Rooney over weight

This morning see some comments come from Sir Alex Ferguson regarding the weight of Wayne Rooney, comments reported by the Daily Mail.

A lot of Manchester United fans over the summer have also aired views regarding Wayne Rooney’s weight as concerns over his pre-season regime and eating/exercising habits have come to light.

Ferguson discussed Rooney’s life long struggle with weight that is a threat to him remaining a top class player for Manchester United.

The reds boss went on to say:

“Wayne is no Ryan Giggs. Ryan has never put a pound on in his whole life. Wayne is a boy that needs games, you can see that from the frame he’s got. He is stocky, strong and really needs games, simple as that.”

“Some people are lucky. I have had nights out with the jockey Mick Kinane, we’ve had three bottles of wine and he’s still the same weight, not an ounce on him. Unbelievable, and his father Tommy is exactly the same.”

Sir Alex Ferguson has continued belief that Wayne Rooney is to be a huge part of the club’s future, a view which is shared by the player also.

Ferguson went on to say last week in his press conference that, the injury to Wayne could be a blessing in disguise as he will have to get himself back in the gym for recovery.
