Manchester United youngster now in Jose Mourinho's plans

After the sales of Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin, Manchester United appear to have completed their transfer business for this January. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Jose Mourinho can’t bring some fresh faces into his squad.

Speaking on Wednesday on the eve of United’s EFL Cup semi-final second leg with Hull City, Mourinho mentioned the possibility of bringing reserves captain Axel Tuanzebe into the fold in the near future:

“We lost Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, two players who didn’t play many minutes or many matches for us,” explained Mourinho in his pre-match press conference. “They were two players from the squad, so we need numbers and probably Axel is one of the boys that’s in the Academy who is more close to playing with us.

“So we have brought him up to give him more experience, to make the first team more natural for him in case we need him to play in the upcoming matches and month, so he can be more adapted to us.”
