Manchester United will sell goalkeeper in January

Since signing for Manchester United in January last year, Víctor Valdés has only made two appearances for Manchester United. In a 16 minute cameo he managed to concede late on, against Arsenal, changing the result from a 1-0 win to a 1-1 draw.

But the Spanish goalkeeper did manage to keep a clean sheet in his only 90 minute match for United, which was against Hull City, on the last day of the season.

Valdés’ agent, Ginés Carvajal, has announced that his goalkeeper will be on the move in the next transfer window.

The representative has ruled out a move back to his home country, Spain, which most likely puts him on track to join a Premier League club, as there are very few clubs out side of the Prem who, A. want the goalkeeper, and B. can afford his extortionate wages.

Carvajal said:

“He’ll have a chance [to play] in January, wherever he goes. He needs to go to a place he feels is right for him.”

“He won’t be coming to Spain, unless he decides otherwise.”

Many teams have ruled themselves out of signing the ex-Barcelona keeper. Sides like Valencia, Sevilla and Beşiktaş have all rejected Valdés either due to wage demands or his attitude.

Premier League clubs Chelsea and Newcastle United have both been linked Victor as both of their first choice keepers, Thibaut Courtois and Tim Krul, have sustained pretty serious, long term injuries.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
