United want Scholes back

Don’t worry, this isn’t a preview of a January transfer story: “Red Devils re-sign 40 year old”. Manchester United’s coaching duo, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt, are trying to get their ex-team mate, Paul Scholes, back to Old Trafford as the U19’s coach.

Paul Scholes is currently a TV analyst for BT Sports but has made no secret of his desire to one day return to coaching, despite turning down an offer from Oldham.

When asked why he declined the Oldham job, Scholes stated that:

“…it wasn’t the right time for me at that particular moment.”

At times last season, Scholes was quite critical of van Gaal’s methods at Manchester United:

“At times, United’s football is miserable. To beat opposing teams you have to attack, and to attack you have to take risks.”

“It’s all about taking risks as a Manchester United player and having the balls and tenacity to go out and attack the opposition.”

“They’re [the fans] used to watching United teams that play high intensity football and score plenty of goals – and that just hasn’t happened.”

If he were to return to Old Trafford, Scholes would bring a wealth of experience to the young Red Devils and would prove to be an incredible influence on them.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
