Wilson Makes England U21's Team

Next month, the England U21 side plays against the USA and Norway, coach Gareth Southgate has deemed James Wilson worthy of a place in his line up.

Wilson hasn’t played for Manchester United so far this season but did feature in their pre-season tour of the United States. He was a member of what was ssen as the second string side that would take to the field in the second half. He assisted Jesse Lingard’s goal in a 3-1 win over Barcelona.

In 14 Premier League games, Wilson has scored 3 goals; he has excelled in the United’s youth, scoring 16 goals in 25 U21 Premier League and UEFA Youth games. Commenting on his call up, the English man said:

“Playing for England’s senior team is obviously the main goal… but you have to take one little step at a time.

“I think the Under-21’s will be good for me – a great experience and some valuable game time as well.”

This will be a big step forward in James’ development, as would a season long loan, which has been rumoured.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
