Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has openly admitted that he is exhilarated by the emergence of Juan Mata in the United squad, and he’s delighted by the start of which Juan has made.
When speaking to United Review, Sir Bobby said: “like Juan Mata a lot. I must admit I admired him the very first time I saw him play on television, but I did not think we would have the opportunity to sign him. He is a fantastic player already but could go on to become a great one. I’m sure that’s his aim. In the coming months and years, he will get the opportunity to score and make more goals because he is simply first class. You can already see how much he loves being here and he is a very nice man to go with it.”
Sir Bobby isn’t the only one who’s fond of Juan, who recently has been deservedly starting in his preferred role, as number 10. Mata portrays a sense of flair the squad have lacked for some time, especially this season; he’s the start of a new era; and with more players of similar ability to Mata, United will rise back to the top.
Juan was honoured by Sir Bobby’s praiseful comments, as any professional would be; Juan told ManUtd.com that he “would like to thank Sir Bobby Charlton for his words towards me; him being such a legend means they are even more valuable.”
If there’s anyone that knows talent, it’s Sir Bobby Charlton. The man who was managed by Sir Matt Busby, the genius that won the World Cup with England in 1966; and the superstar that scored 247 goals in 754 games for The Devils.
Sir Bobby has nailed it on the head – Juan is a fantastic addition to the squad, when played in the correct position. As Juan would say; Hugs!
