David Moyes backs Luis Nani after poor performance against Stoke City

Manchester United manager David Moyes has backed Luis Nani after being boo’d off the pitch by fans on Saturday after a poor performance against Stoke City.

A handful of Manchester United supporters felt the need to boo Luis Nani once he was substituted on the 58th-minute for Adnan Januzaj on Saturday, admittedly the Portuguese winger had a poor game and slowly walked off when substituted rather than running off to quickly get the game going again, which at the time United were 2-1 down.

However, manager David Moyes was quick to back his player while admitting that some decision making was slight off.

Moyes said:

“He is a regular and captain for Portugal so he is very talented.

“There were one or two decisions he might have made better, but he got us the [first] goal with a lovely ball.

“We have a lot of competition for places in the wide areas, incredible competition, and that is what we’re looking for.”

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
