Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has stated that he has full faith in new manager David Moyes.
David Moyes, who started his job officially on Monday, is due to meet with troubled striker Wayne Rooney and his representatives today to work out whether he will be staying at the club or not.
Moyes met with Wayne Rooney briefly at a restaurant in Manchester before both left on their family holidays in which talks went well, but Moyes has not had confirmation for the England striker whether he wishes to stay next season or not.
The new Manchester United manager yesterday confirmed his backroom staff Steve Round, Chris Woods and Jimmy Lumsden and vice-chairman Ed Woodward has total confidence in the Champions new manager.
Woodward said:
“I believe with David and his new team in place, along with our current backroom staff, we can now start preparing for the new season ahead,”
“This is an exciting and challenging time for the club and I have great belief that David and his team will have all the energy and attributes needed to help this club continue in its long-standing traditions.”
With the big shift of backroom staff, Moyes is more than happy to bring in his own staff rather than keeping on those that have been with Manchester United for years, Moyes said:
“I have worked with Steve, Chris and Jimmy for a number of years and I am delighted they have decided to join me at this great club,”
“They bring great qualities in their respective fields and I know that, like me, they feel that this is a challenge to relish.
“I have great faith that together, we can build upon the success this club has enjoyed over many years.”
