Manchester United have announced a brand new sponsorship on day one of the David Moyes era at the club, signing up with Thailand mobile firm, True.
During last season, Manchester United claimed over 70 million viewers in Thailand alone, a figure that is set to rise due to new television rights through-out the country.
United sign with True on a three-year contract, exact figure is unknown, TrueMove H will become Manchester United’s official mobile partner for Thailand; and TrueVisions, True Group’s pay TV operator and leader in sports and entertainment content with the most channels including HD, will be the official MUTV broadcaster for Thailand.
In addition to the True Group becoming Manchester United’s official mobile partner and MUTV broadcaster for Thailand, it has also become an associate match sponsor for the opening tour game against Singha All Star XI in Bangkok on Saturday 13th July 2013.
Richard Arnold, Manchester United group managing director said:
“When considering our partners, the club likes to ensure the company in question shares many of the same attributes that have allowed us to grow into the world’s most recognised team. True is a company that demonstrated many admirable qualities, itself crediting courage and the ability to take on new challenges as the key to its success.
“Since forming in 1990 it has continued to grow with the fast-paced telecommunications industry to become one of the best in its territory, proudly being the first to embrace many new technologies. Our new partnership is set to follow suit and provide our 20 million loyal and passionate Thai followers with exclusive content and footage, bringing them closer to the club they love.”
