Sir Alex Ferguson has this morning, played down talk and media speculation that Wayne Rooney is to leave Old Trafford in the summer and head to Paris Saint Germain.
The media, fans and social media have been speculating about Wayne Rooney’s future over the past few weeks and reports in France from Le Sport 10 have claimed that Rooney to PSG is a “done” deal.
Michel Moulin, former advisor for Paris Saint Germain said in previous television reports:
“I announce to you from trusted sources: Rooney to PSG is done, he will be at PSG next season.”
But this morning Sir Alex Ferguson responded to to the medias questions on Wayne Rooney’s future, casting doubt on how genuine the PSG claims are.
He said:
“I don’t think there is anything in that at all”
Wayne Rooney was substituted on Wednesday night against West Ham, adding to the speculation, but Sir Alex has stated why the England international was pulled off.
“As far as taking him off the other night, it was simple:
he wasn’t playing as well as Shinji Kagawa was
In so many games Wayne Rooney is better than most players. But on the night Shinji was playing so well.”

I think we have seen the best of Rooney, now he seems to have one good game in every three and on his bad days he resembles a pub player. When he was younger I thought he was a combination of a Mark Hughes and Kenny Dalglish and would go on to be one of the best players ever to come from England and while he is a top player on his day he is not consistent enough to be put in the world class bracket.
