Manchester United’s scouts have been busy in the past few weeks with watching various players in and around Europe, the latest scouting mission for the reds was to watch Ajax star Toby Alderweireld.
Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be interested in signing a new central defender this summer before the club leave on their pre-season tour and in recent weeks United have been linked with Ezequiel Garay from Benfica, Ellaquim Mangala from Porto and Brazilian stopper Dede.
According to media group RTL, Manchester United have recently been to watch Ajax star Toby Alderweireld and their scouts believe that the Belgium international could be a worthy of a £10million price tag.

Alderweireld, who is 24-years-old could follow in the footsteps of his Belgium team-mates Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen and leave the Eredivisie for the Barclays Premier League.
The current contract that Alderweireld is on at Ajax ends in the summer of 2014, but could move to England this summer after outgrowing the club.
Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle United have also been said to be tracking the Belgium’s progress.
