Celtic legend Sean Fallon was laid to rest today in Glasgow today and Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson attended and delivered a fantastic eulogy at the service.
At the service this morning in Glasgow there were many of the city’s most famous ex-footballers from both sides of the Old Firm divide, one of them was the former Rangers player Sir Alex Ferguson, who told an amusing tale of what Fallon was like as a player from the pulpit.
Sir Alex Ferguson, who was very good friends with Fallon, went on to pay fine tribute to the Irish international:
“I think it’s very difficult for people who are successful to remain humble, it’s a touch of greatness.
“Sean always had that greatness. Through his background, his upbringing, his Irishness, that breeds humility and also loyalty, he would never let you down.”
