3 players United will be tracking at Euro 2021

Manchester United could be busy in this summer’s transfer market as we are closing in on Champions League qualification and three games away from winning this season’s Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a great job so far this season getting us up to second place in the table despite a couple of weaknesses in the first team.

Should we be successful in the transfer window then we have a chance for competing for the 2021-22 Premier League title or at least finish comfortably in the top four.

Here are three players our scouts and coaching team will likely be keeping tabs on during Euro 2021 this summer:

Declan Rice (England)

A player who is establishing himself as a regular for England is West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice. Although still only 22 years old he plays as if he has a lot more experience under his belt.

We could do with West Ham United failing to get into the top four this season if we’re to prize Rice away from East London, particularly with the previous quotes we’ve heard the Hammers want. England are the favourites to lift the trophy this summer according to the EM 2021 odds, and if they’re to live up to those expectations that Rice would have to play a big role in this as Southgate has very few alternative options.

Manchester United don’t have an out and out holding midfielder and as good as Scott McTominay has been for us this season, Declan Rice would be an upgrade and a long-term fixture in our first team.

Jack Grealish (England)

The Aston Villa captain has been linked to us for a while and one has to think it’s make or break for us this summer if we’re to ever sign Jack Grealish. The box-to-box midfielder has proven his talent and leadership for the West Midlands club and now he may want to test his ability in the Champions League.

Although he’s not a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England national team just yet you can expect Grealish to feature at the Euros in a 4-3-3 formation that suits him. A goalscorer, a playmaker and a leader, the 25-year-old would be a huge acquisition if we could pull it off before the start of next season.

Saul (Spain)

The fact that Fred is a regular in our team shows we need to make some investment in central midfield this summer. Should we miss out on Jack Grealish then expect the board to turn attention to Atletico Madrid and Spain’s Saul Niguez. Or we may try sign both. His price tag is very affordable if reports are accurate.

Saul is a possession player who doesn’t get involved in too many goals but would essentially be an upgrade on the Brazilian we currently have playing for us in this role. This could make for a great partnership with Bruno Fernandes in front of him.

The 26-year-old is not a regular in the Spanish starting XI, but he’ll see game time this summer.

Enjoy that? Give it a share!
