Manchester United defender Chris Smalling believes that the sky may be the limit for the club thanks to manager Jose Mourinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Portuguese has won the Community Shield and the EFL Cup in what has already been an encouraging first season in charge, and the Swedish striker bagged a brace during Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Southampton, with the United centre back believing that the pair can lead the club to plenty more success.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Smalling said: “With the belief and confidence we have here, we have got a manager who is a born winner and Ibra finishing chances like that, who knows what can happen?” he said.
“He is our main man. He is our focal point, he is our target man who can hold it up and run in behind so we are lucky to have him. We will all enjoy it, but we all knew the importance of winning this and we are in so many other competitions as well.”
