Manchester United’s next two Premier League opponents are Everton, at Goodison Park, and Manchester City, at Old Trafford.
Both of these teams are expected to be suffering from many injuries to key members of their squad in the upcoming matchups.
Everton
Manchester United make the short trip to Everton this Saturday, for a 15:00 kick off. The Toffees will be missing: first choice left back Leighton Baines; right back Tony Hibbert; flairful midfielder Steven Pienaar and; ex-Manchester United centre-mid Tom Cleverley.
However, Everton’s young full back pair of Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning have played very well against Swansea, West Brom and Liverpool.
To add to this, youngsters John Stones and Muhamed Bešić are questionable for the fixture against the Red Devils. Stones is a key member of the Everton defence despite only being 21.
Manchester City
United’s Manchester rivals have a lot of high quality depth in their squad but a lot of their key, first choice players could be missing for their trip to Old Trafford on Sunday 25th October.
Left backs Aleksandar Kolarov and Gaël Clichy are currently injured with Clichy only questionable to return for the derby match.
Fabien Delph, signed to abide by UEFA Champions League association grown rules, is also expected to continue his spell on the doctors table for the United game.
Both Samir Nasri and Yaya Touré are currently suffering from a hamstring injury and could potentially return this weekend but, it has been reported that Yaya’s injury could keep him out for longer than first anticipated.
During this international break, City lost two of their top Spanish speaking stars. David Silva is anticipated to be out until next month with an ankle injury and top goal scorer Sergio Agüero is also expected to be out until November.
Manchester United’s injury list is currently inhabited by Paddy McNair, with a ruptured liver and Luke Shaw, who is recovering from a broken leg.
But United’s central midfielders have sustained a lot of injury time between them and it’s questionable if they’ll all survive the Everton and CSKA Moscow games and be fit for the big Manchester Derby.
