Manchester United make £25,000 from West Ham United every-time former United player Ravel Morrison plays first team football, according to the Telegraph.
Morrison has started the season with a fantastic flourish for West Ham United, with his most recent goal and performance excelling in their 3-0 away win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The below slow-motion video for England’s under-21s is more than impressive:
In this weekend’s Sunday Telegraph, journalist Jason Burt writes that:
“Manchester United receive a payment of £25,000 for every first-team appearance Ravel Morrison makes for West Ham United.
“The installments are part of the complicated deal that sent the 20-year-old to Upton Park last year and add to the initial £650,000 transfer fee that West Ham paid.”
Ravel Morrison went through many troubled times in his personal life at Manchester United, coming to a head when Warren Joyce and Sir Alex Ferguson sold the England youngster back in 2012.
Burt added in his article:
“When Sir Alex Ferguson decided to sell Morrison in January of last year, a £3 million fee was discussed with West Ham, who were then in the Championship.
“But the London club eventually paid a fraction of the figure that was initially demanded upfront and instead agreed to pay United per game, which not only demonstrated their willingness to invest in Morrison but also the concerns over whether he would ever eventually knuckle down and succeed in the Premier League.”
So, now, every-time that Ravel Morrison plays for West Ham United the Premier League Champions get £25,000. Hopefully the club use that money to put towards the new contract offered to starlet Adnan Januzaj.
