Birmingham manager, Lee Clark is hopeful that the board will give him the backing and the money to bring Lingard to the club, Lingard was United’s leading goal-scorer on their pre-season tour of the Far East.
A loan spell for Lingard can only benefit him as a player, rather than under-21 football at Manchester United he can gain valuable first-team experience.
Speaking at his weekly press conference, Clark said:
“I am always looking and seeing what’s around and always asking the question to the board whether there are finances there for us to keep pushing forward.
“No doubt they will get sick of me, but I will keep asking the questions.”
Jesse Lingard had a two-month loan spell last season with Leicester City, making six-appearances. Lingard also made his England Under-21 debut against Scotland in August. He is very much a prospect for the future.
