David Moyes has come out today and stated that it is “hard to believe” that Manchester United’s opening Premier League fixtures had come out by chance, almost suggesting that the league had fixed a tough start.
Manchester United start their campaign on Saturday with a tough trip to Swansea City away, the in the following week the Champions face Chelsea at Old Trafford before a trip to Anfield to play biter rivals Liverpool.
This afternoon, a very aggrieved David Moyes has questioned how the fixtures have come about and in quotes reported on the BBC Sport website, he said:
“I think it’s the hardest start for 20 years that Manchester United have had.
“I hope it’s not because Manchester United won the league quite comfortably last year (that) the fixtures have been made much more difficult.”
Moyes goes on to question whether the draw of fixture were fixed, he added:
“I find it hard to believe that’s the way the balls came out of the bag, that’s for sure.”
The Barclays Premier League were quick to comment of Moyes’ thought, a spokesman said:
“David has put those concerns to us. We have absolutely assured him the process is random and above board. He has accepted those assurances.”
