Manchester United’s only signing this summer, thus far, Guillermo Varela has admitted that he could be loaned out to Boca Juniors for 2013/14 season.
The 20-year-old Uruguayan defender, said he felt a return to his native South America might be in his best interests rather than staying at Manchester United and only getting experience within the reserve squad.
Varela joined Manchester United from Penarol for £2.8million, but the prospect of him breaking into the first-team this season is slim as Rafael, Fabio, Jones and Smalling are ahead of him for the right back position.
Boca were reportedly interested in signing Varela before he came to Mancheste United, and the player told Tutto Mercato Web:
“Could be a good solution.
“I would play with continuity for one year, always thinking of returning to United, who is the team which most believed in me.”
Guillermo Varela’s chances of making the first team might not be this season but he will surely gain more experience playing with Boca Juniors. Him gaining experience would surely help Manchester United’s odds in winning in the Premier League once he starts playing, so open a William Hill betting account today! Let’s just wait and see.
