Manchester United’s next transfer target of the summer, Sofyan Amrabat, has been conspicuously left out of Fiorentina’s squad for the opening leg of their Europa Conference League play-off.
Although Amrabat’s future remains in question, he was initially named in Fiorentina’s provisional 25-man squad for the 2023-24 European campaign.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old midfielder has not been selected for the final matchday group to take on Rapid Wien in the inaugural leg of their Europa Conference League play-off come Thursday night.
This omission could signify a significant move towards settling the uncertainty surrounding Amrabat’s future, particularly in light of Fiorentina laying down a strict 48-72 hour timeline for interested clubs to present their offers. Manchester United are perceived to be at the front of the queue for the Moroccan international’s signature, yet Liverpool & Atletico Madrid has also been mentioned as showing keen interest in procuring his talents.
In addition, Amrabat was notably excluded from Fiorentina’s triumphant 4-1 victory over Genoa in the first round of Serie A fixtures. The Florence-based Italian club is keen to orchestrate his exit by the week’s end, thereby allowing themselves ample opportunity to secure a suitable replacement prior to the transfer window shutting.
Could we see a developement is the Sofyan Amrabat transfer saga soon? We are hoping so.
