Jose Mourinho & AS Roma have their sights set on acquiring Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood even after all that has happened at Manchester United.
Following an extensive internal review, United recently affirmed that Greenwood will be parting ways with the club.
While United’s original intention was to retain the young English forward, revelations by The Athletic’s Adam Crafton altered this stance, especially given the ensuing outcry from fans and influential figures.
In an open letter addressed to fans, United’s CEO Richard Arnold mentioned that they had initially contemplated the possibility of Greenwood’s reintegration. While their investigation determined Greenwood wasn’t guilty of the accusations levelled against him, his acknowledgment of errors in his judgment rendered his continued association with United untenable.
Having been at Old Trafford since his younger days, Greenwood, now 21, looks set to resurrect his football career in a fresh setting.
According to talkSPORT, Roma, among several Italian clubs, is enthusiastic about having Greenwood on board. Mourinho’s team appears prepared to offer the young talent from United’s Carrington academy a second chance.
