Manchester United host Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday with a place in the last 16 of the Champions League up for grabs.

The Red Devils need just one point to progress to the knockout phase, and they will be eager to get the job done against last year’s runners-up.

United are priced at odds of 9/5 to win the game, and plenty of fans are likely to use these Ladbrokes Offers to back them defeat the Ligue 1 side. Read on as we preview the game.

Solksjaer Faces Selection Headache

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has a few injuries worries to contend with as he strives to guide United safely through the group stage.

David de Gea came off at half-time in the 3-2 Premier League win at Southampton, and he will need to be assessed ahead of the clash with PSG.

Alex Telles was also forced off late on in that game, while Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial are also major doubts.

However, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay could return to the squad after missing the fixtures against Istanbul Basaksehir and Southampton.

United in Pole Position to Qualify

United have given themselves a glorious opportunity to qualify for the group stage after picking up nine points from the four group games to date.

Very few United fans predicted they would beat PSG in the reverse fixture, while a 5-0 demolition of RB Leipzig was also an unexpected bonus.

United’s inconsistencies returned to the fore on Matchday 3 as they slipped to a disappointing defeat in Istanbul, cranking up the pressure on the return game.

They exacted their revenge in style at Old Trafford with a 4-1 victory to put themselves in pole position to qualify from Group H.

Tuchel Under the Cosh as PSG Stutter

PSG have also endured an up-and-down campaign in the Champions League and can ill-afford to lose at Old Trafford.

Thomas Tuchel’s side bounced back from their opening defeat against United to win in Istanbul, before slipping to another reverse against Leipzig.

PSG secured a 1-0 victory over the Bundesliga outfit in their most recent outing, but they still look short of their best form.

They have won just two of their last five games in all competitions and will need to improve if they are to take anything from Wednesday’s fixture.

History Favours United

United have lost only one of their last 11 matches in European competitions against Ligue 1 clubs, winning eight and drawing two.

The Red Devils had never previously been beaten at home by French opponents before their 2-0 defeat against PSG in 2019.

That victory was PSG’s second in England from 11 attempts, and they have won just six of their 22 games against English opponents.

PSG defied expectations by reaching last year’s final, but they may well struggle to make it out of the group this time around.

United vs PSG Prediction: Aside from the blip in Istanbul, United have played pretty well in the Champions League. PSG’s flaky nature appears to have resurfaced this term, and the Red Devils look a good bet to secure their place in the last 16.
