Mourinho: "We cannot make mistakes against Spurs"

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is hoping for a reaction from his players ahead of Monday’s fixture with Tottenham Hotspur. An error-strewn performance against Brighton & Hove Albion saw United lose 3-2 last Sunday, and the Portuguese is desperate to put the memories of that damaging defeat to bed when Mauricio Pochettino’s side come to town, one that in the betting you can get a Jackpot Fortune Bonus Code to us how you wish, even on Manchester United.

“I think nobody is happy (after the Brighton game), obviously,” said Mourinho to MUTV. “I have enough experience to know that in football you cannot look back for good results or bad results; you have always to look to the next one. That’s our life. I’m really happy with the work we did in the week and with the players’ commitment and I look forward to the game.

“Just looking at Leicester and Brighton – against Leicester we didn’t make mistakes and we played well, we won. Against Brighton, we made mistakes and we paid for the mistakes and we lost. I think you look at football in a pragmatic way – normally you get what you deserve, so if you want to win against a big team, you cannot make mistakes.”

Mourinho is hoping that Old Trafford will have some effect on Monday’s proceedings. Of last season’s top six, only Manchester City left United’s stadium having avoided defeat, and the Portuguese is keen to establish that same record in this campaign.

“That’s what we tried to do last season and in big matches last season managed to get lots of good results, which in the end are points, like the other points. But for the supporters normally it has a little different feeling.”

Manchester United will need to offer a far better performance on Monday to stand any chance of beating a Spurs side that has won its first two league games, and with City already clicking into gear, Mourinho knows that his side must find their rhythm soon to stand any chance of being involved in this season’s title race.

They will be boosted though with the return of some players all going well, Mouinho finished off his press conference saying  “I don’t know because today is still Friday and training Saturday and training Sunday, match Monday, decisions to be made Sunday but yes (Matic and Valencia are) training with the team, Dalot also training with the team for the first time this week so in terms of medical department they are almost free.”
